"What? Oh.. Uncomfortable? Uh...not really uncomfortable, Bobbi, just confused. Why did you do this to me?"
"I just wanted you to get a feeling for what all this dressing up is all about, Johnny. I want you to understand something that I'm going to tell you, and I don't think that you could have if you hadn't felt those clothes and seen yourself dressed in them."
Bobbi then told me about the past months: his embarrassment at first wearing the jumpsuits and tight shorts, but that as time went on he found that he really looked forward to what dressing and behaving like a young woman held for him.
"Johnny, this opportunity at Wentworth is a once in a lifetime thing. Mary knew someone at the college and put in a good word for me and with my score on the aptitude test, I was a shoo in. I have to go."
"Also," he said, "you know that my marriage and our love life has been terrible for quite some time. I love Naomi, but she's been so sick that we really don't have a relationship anymore. I won't abandon her, and Mary says that she will continue to take care of her and really encourages me to go to college.
"Now that you have seen and felt for yourself what dressing up is like, I hope you will respect me when I tell you that I'm going to continue to live like this, get my degree and see if I can really make something of my life."
Bobbi took my hand in his and held it softly. We stood together in front of the mirror and I realized that Bobbi's decision was something that I would have to come to grips with. There was something exciting about seeing myself in the mirror looking very much like a girl. I wasn't nearly as attractive as he was, but I didn't look too bad.
After a few moments, I looked into Bobbi's eyes and saw a new confidence there. We smiled at each other: new best friends. Carefully, I removed the cashmere tam and shook out my hair. I pulled the sweater over my head and then quickly removed all of Bobbi's clothing. He excused himself to the bathroom. I dressed
and used some cold cream on the dresser to remove the makeup he had applied.
Coming back into the room, Dot said, "Do you understand Bobbi, just a little, John?" They must have planned this.
"I think I understand a lot, Bobbi. You really haven't changed that much, you know."
I had a new understanding about a lot of things and with a new feeling for women inside as well.
The following evening when I returned home, Dot was curious about what was going on with Bobbi. "Is he really going to that women's college, John?"
"He has a scholarship and Mary has helped to make special arrangements for him to go. He'll work part time, of course, but he's been doing that for as long as I've known him. He'll be fine.
"Besides, the clothing you girls get to wear is pretty interesting stuff.”
"What do you know about ladies' clothing, Johnny? Have you been in my closet?"
I told Dot about what Bobbi had told me and how it made me feel. Something I said seemed to make her glow. Her eyes widened and when I told her about the bra and panties she pulled me onto the couch and stroked me with a passion that reminded me of the way we made love when we first fell in love.
She unbuttoned my shirt as I pulled her soft 'V' neck sweater over her head. . .But that's my story again...
worse.
Chapter ten-
"Doubled her wardrobe."
During the summer Naomi's health got worse and Bob spent more time with Naomi and started to work on a wardrobe for his first year at Wentworth. Mary had taught him the basics of sewing, but he seemed to go beyond her teaching quickly and even designed some very attractive outfits for himself to wear at college.
Bobbi continued at the airline as a stewardess and shorter hours at Doc's Bar.
From time to time Bobbi would run across the street
